I ran and got tired is physical theatre play inspired by Russian surrealist author Daniil Kharms. The multi lingual performance brings in to light the struggle of an artist and the absolute necessity of fighting for oneself convictions.
Daniil Kharms, with his avant-garde language, talks ironically about social issues such as poverty and injustice. This subtle miscellany between humor and seriousness intend to make reflecting by feeling ambigous emotions.
Filling Visions is a personal research about different themes as the loneliness, the women country-life, the latvian culture, the deep meaning of house, and the imagination that influences the fantasy such as the power of memory.
In the story of “Filling Visions” the character enters in the freezed and lonely house and this place inspires her through visions, that give a new life to the house itself: the clock is again awake, the couch seems to invite... The new visions talks to her, sometimes they scare her, but the desire to fill the absence makes her continue this process of discovery, until she fuses together with the place and its passed time.
Visions is a short theater play inspired from Latvian photographer
Viktorija Eksta and from herself portrait project:
”God Nature Toil” where she found
an abandoned house and took pictures of her self in the clothes of
the woman who lived there. Thanks to the work and presence
of the artist, the story of an old woman passed away years before can
live again in a new form.
